For the Love of the Game
Driven by a passion for golf and one-on-one patient care, Matt leads The Golf Physio with a focus on personalized treatments and proven results. With years of experience as a physical therapist, Matt's dedicated approach ensures each client receives the best care to improve their life, on and off the course.

Born and raised in Charleston, Matt picked up a golf club at age 10 and has been hooked ever since. He grew up playing the Lowcountry's coastal courses and now embraces the unique challenges of mountain golf. When he's not treating patients or perfecting his swing, Matt enjoys spending time outdoors- gardening and hitting the trails with his wife and daughter.

Matt's Philosophy
I believe good health and having the ability to play golf is a privilege. And any privilege should be respected and deserves effort to nurture and sustain. We cannot control what accidents happen to us, or what diagnoses take us away from the game. But we can control the effort we put into mitigating the resulting impairments and always work toward good health through movement therapies and the “lifestyle medicine” approach. Through my lived experiences, both professional and personal, I have come to believe that Golf truly is the Greatest Game to pursue for living a long and healthy life. In a time where screentime, and over stimulation is the norm, golf provides a regression to simpler times and strengthens our connection between mind, body and soul. There is no other major sport that can be played longer in life than golf. I like to think of it as the original “longevity” training. When you combine the physical requirements of golf with the social and communal aspects of the game it is no surprise why some studies have shown the average golfer lives 5 years longer than his or her counterpart. Golf gives us joy, a sense of awe, and often a drive to keep moving in life. Nowadays with modern science in golf fitness and training, it can give us even more benefits toward our health and longevity. As a physical therapist my career exists to help people hurt less, move easier, enjoy and appreciate moving more, and age with grace. This is why combining Golf and good Physical Therapy resonates strongly with me. Golf Physio is the vehicle I intend to use to spread joy, enthusiasm for movement, and ultimately give back to the game that I fell in love with as a young boy.
